Instead of landing on a pad, which is how SpaceX normally lands its boosters, the booster was caught with pinpoint accuracy, reducing wear and tear. So, why does this matter?

This method is faster and can save time. When a rocket lands on a pad, it needs to be transported back to the launch tower again, which wastes time and energy and add delays.
